Chamber Calls for Comprehensive Climate Change Legislation

Released November 6, 2009

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has called on Congress to draft and enact bipartisan, comprehensive climate change legislation (download the letter below). The Chamber has been criticized in recent months for their opposition to the cap-and-trade legislation. A number of high-profile companies including Apple Inc., Pacific Gas and Electric Company have dropped their membership to the Chamber in opposition to the organization’s stance. The Chamber stopped short of endorsing cap-and-trade provisions, but the move was hailed by Sen. Boxer as a “game changer.”
