OSHA Releases Company Workplace Released February 15, 2010 Under the administration’s commitment to make injury and illness data more accessible, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is now making available the work-related injury and illness data collected from more than 80,000 employers from 1996 to 2007 in a searchable online database. The agency utilizes this data to calculate injury and illness incidence rates to direct its strategic management plan and to focus its Site Specific Targeting (SST) inspection program. Under the FY10 SST program, the agency has included 4,000 high-hazard worksites on its list for comprehensive safety inspections. The primary list of establishments slated for inspection has been divided into manufacturing, non-manufacturing and nursing home sectors. Rather than using one rate for all establishments, OSHA established minimum injury and illness rates for each group. To review OSHA’s workplace injury and illness data, visit www.osha.gov/pls/odi/establishment_search.html.
